I decided to look up the work PINK on Wikipedia. It's fasinating all the information they have gatherd about the color. Here is some of the more interesting fact that I found......
Pink is a pale red color that was first recorded in the 17th century to describe the pale red flowers of pinks, flowering plants in the genus Dianthus. This color stands for beauty, grace and goodness. The color pink itself is a combination of red and white. Other tints of pink may be combinations of rose and white, magenta and white, or orange and white.
Pale pink. A light, desaturated shade of pink.
Pastel pink. In Western culture, pastel pink is used to symbolize baby girlsjust as baby blue is often used to symbolize baby boys.
Dark pink: A darker, desaturated shade of pink.
Shocking pink (also called neon pink) is bold and intense. Fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli popularized this color in 1936, naming it shocking pink; it was the color of the box her perfume called Shocking came in (the box was shaped like the torso of film star Mae West).
Pink in gender:
*In Western culture, the practice of assigning pink to an individual gender began in the 1920s. From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys because it was the more masculine and decided color while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color. Since the 1940s, the societal norm apparently inverted so that pink became appropriate for girls and blue appropriate for boys, a practice that has continued into the 21st century.
*Though the color pink has sometimes been associated with gender stereotypes, some feminists have sought to reclaim it.
* It has been suggested that females prefer pink because of an evolutionary preference for reddish things like ripe fruits and healthy faces.
Pink in Sexuality
*Whereas Jewish people were forced to wear the yellow stars of David under Nazi rule, and Roma people were forced to wear a black triangle, men imprisoned on accusations of homosexuality or same-sex sexual activity were forced to wear a pink triangle. Nowadays, the pink triangle is often worn with pride.
*In Japan the color Cherry Blossom Pink is associated with a woman's vagina, and therefore, in Japan, softcore pornographic films are called pin movies.
Clothing
*Pink is a line of loungeware clothing carried by Victoria's Secret.
*Pink shirts are now popular throughout Western Civilization, but were not always so. They were once seen as a camp or even homosexual color.
Film
*Pretty In Pink has the color named in the title
*In the film, Freaky Friday, Linsday Lohan's character is in a band called "Pink Slip"
*The Pink Panther is a popular cartoon character.
*Pink Ladies was the name of Betty Rizzo's gang in the film, Grease (film).
Health
*In the pink is an English idiomatic expression for in good condition or in good health.
Music
*P!nk is an American singer-songwriter whose real name is Alecia Moore.
*"Pink" is a song by Aerosmith.
*Under The Pink is an album by Tori Amos.
*Pink Floyd is a British progressive rock band.
*"Think Pink!" is a song from Funny Face.
*Elvis Presley owned what is the most famous Pink Cadillac in the world.
Parapsychology
*It has been asserted that people with pink auras are those who strongly desire romantic relationships.

These bookcases are too cute! Great for a kids room, their like big logo pieces. I found it on the blog 2Modern Design Talk. Here are a few word they said.
"Designers from a Swedish design company, Smånsk, revealed these magnified Legos that stack up into a whimsical bookcase, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February. According to Smånsk: 'All parts of the Skew Bookcase are identical. To assemble it you just rotate the parts and place them on top of each other. The identical parts provides easy manufacturing as well.'"

Happy Easter from my Peeps!
Easter weekend 2008. I'm driving to my hometown where my parents still live to spend the day with my family, go to church and have brunch. I hope everyone celebrates Easter in their own way and it's a happy day for all.

Barely PINK
In an attempt to clear my hard drive, here are some interior picture that I've collected from various sources (and I don't remember them all!). But the theme here are rooms with a little pink. A good thing I think as an all pink room can be very overwhelming.
Burlesque. Good show? We'll See!
I'm so excited to see a new burlesque show in Seattle tonight, The Heavenly Spies. Their doing their thing every Friday at the Can Can from Feb. 1st-March 28th. Next Friday will be their last show but I'm going tonight, I can't wait....
So went to the show, it was fun! They are great dancers, a little risque if you're into that thing (or not) but definitely a good time.

This picture has always fascinated me. But now more than ever because it reminds me of the state of my life right now. Everything is broken but that chair can be re-upholstered and the walls can be built up again, re-painted, the unwanted garbage swept away. This room can be beautiful again. And as long as you have PINK you can survive anything.

Tracy Reese NYC
My dream is to own a store someday. I would love to own a retail store specializing in interior design and clothing. I love the interior of this Tracy Reese store in New York. Another reason I need to go back soon! My store would be beautiful like this one.
"Her store is an airy ballroom of a place, the walls painted bright coral pink and embellished with gold scrolls that put me in mind of the beautiful abstract work of the painter Philip Taaffe. Enormous dressing rooms are concealed by thick silk-embroidered Chinese panels. Crystal chandeliers hang over a Jetsons-like seating . The store is saturated in great baths of color and splinters of light; it is shopping as interior decoration. ATMOSPHERE: The 2,200 square feet area of oak flooring and angled walls make an architecturally streamlined shop; bright pink walls and vibrant silk curtains make it feel like the kind of place a 1960's girl group would feel comfortable performing in. Which makes sense, considering the architect's name is Ronnette Riley." By ALEX KUCZYNSKI
