La Villa

As if I need another reason to go back to Paris soon(er than later), this very pink and beautiful designed restaurant, La Villa, just opened close to the Arc de Triomphe. Described as "Paris bistro-something more like the 1960's Hollywood mansion" it is "almost as if we were writing a film script. The story evolves through the different spaces." I just love the pink uplighting and the glass hallway. Oh Paris!

A Walk on Pike

I'm blogging to you from Cupcake Royale on Capital Hill in Seattle. A lovely little spot decorated in sunday colors; pink, white and brown. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but if you're ever in Seattle, check it out. The cupcakes are yum yum yummy. I had a smaller version today called a "Babycake" but they certinaly have lots of flavors to make everyone happy.
Crazy....I never noticed the building that housed Cupcake Royale (even though I've been here before and drive by all the time). I was walking across the street and it literally caught my breath. It's red and pink! The building is called Eleven Eleven East Pike. The website shows pictures and renderings of the gourgous condos in this building. I dream of living here somday....sign.

Fabbrica

I've been spending lots of time gathering images and ideas for a class project of mine. The project is to design a commercial space and I am designing a Mexican Bakery & Cafe. This is actually a business idea of mine that I hope to open someday (3-5 year plan). Of course I love pink so it will be full of pink touches. This Italian restaurant called Fabbrica in Rotterdam is very close to what I want in my cafe to look like. I love the pink benches, exposed brick, mosaic tile and chandeliers all in a large warehouse space. Now I am inspired to finish (well start) my project and dream about my future cafe.

Electric Bird Cage

London has all the best bars, and restaurants and interiors. The Electric Bird Cage in the West End neighborhood of London is everything I look for in a lounge and bar. I wish we had more great bars like this in Seattle. With lots and lots of pink touches! "Complete with carousel bar, lavish Vegas mirrors, stunning monochrome Fibonacci patterned walls and floor, imposing black stallions, giant bird cages, turquoise hand shaped chairs and lashings of fluorescent pink, the exaggerated splendour of The Electric Birdcage creates a magical environment in which to savour a superlative range of innovative cocktails, alongside contemporary Pan Asian cuisine."

Man Loves Pink

Karim Rashid loves pink more than I do. I knew his favorite color is pink and here doesn't disappoint with this new restaurant. Here are some images of the Thai restaurant Kurve he designed and just opened in New York City in August 2009. I think I need to take a trip to NYC soon, very soon. The food looks pretty yummy too!

Snog on a hot day.

I just saw these pictures of the first frozen yoghurt store to open in the United Kingdom called Snog. "Snog is a new retail concept offering pure frozen yogurt, natural and green tea. The shop interior evokes the feeling of summer. The concept for the store was to evoke the feeling of a perfect never-ending summer. The interior is deliberately quirky, with a photographic grass floor and British flowers on the glass walls. A key element is the digital sky which will adjust the mood of the store perpetually throughout the day and evenings."-Frame Magazine.
It's funny that this would be the first frozen yoghurt store in the UK but I guess it doesn't get hot over there where people are running to the ice cream store with kids in tow. Stores are popping up in Seattle, we definitely saw the trend last summer and now gelato shops are all the rage. I don't care if it's ice cream, frozen yoghurt or gelato, I love sweets things!

FR.OG French Origin

I had the pleasure of stumbling upon this restaurant when I was in New York City last December. I looked in, got a good look but sadly did not have a chance to eat or have drinks here. Well, I guess that's a good reason to go back to NYC for a visit in the near furture.
FR.OG is located at 71 Spring Street in NoLita.

Here are a few kind words from URBANDADDY NYC:
You're always looking for ways to impress her.
Buying her flowers or pretending to listen intently while she talks about her new handbag are two options. But few things will help your cause more than an evening at the new pastel-heavy French resto that is FR.OG.
FR.OG—which stands for France Origine—uses a bold design and Moroccan, Vietnamese and Lebanese accents to create a more colorful version of Casablanca. Start with a drink at the massive glass-marble bar flanked by square stools upholstered in pink leather. (Get used to the pink—there's a lot more where that came from.) While you sip one of the infused cocktails (Ginger Rose Martini for her, the Moroccan spiced FR.OG Martini for you), you might want to show that you are moved by the hypnotic wave pattern of the sculpted white wall opposite the bar. (She'll see you have a sensitive side.)

Veil

My favorite resturant in Seattle is Veil. Located in the middle of a residential area, it's always easy to find parking, they have a great brunch on the weekends and the design! Well that's really why I love it. With the pink lighting and pink accents against the stark white decor....take a look.
