Summer Vogue

Summer living. It was snowing in Seattle yesterday. Definitely not summer weather, something I can't wait for right now. This Vogue cover from 1946 captures such a beautiful moment. You can find more vintage Vogue covers at the Conde Nast store, www.condenaststore.com.

Sexy Chair

Wow! Look at these amazing lace chairs. So sexy! I could think of a million interiors that this chair would look great in. I think I'm a lace kick but I do actually love this chair. Looks like it only comes in black and white, but it would look so good in pink!

With inspiration from working methods in the textile industry, we have been experimenting with various techniques applicable to the glasfiber. This project is a dialog between many specialized sectors, and different historical references.

Wine with attitude

Well, the label says it all. Actually, I like to drink this wine when I'm having a really bad day and I just need that pick me up...this wine always helps me put things in prespective and makes me smile. And it's a good tasting wine! The first time I picked this up was a few years ago to take to a friends party. I recenly saw it again when I was shopping at a local Seattle wine store Esquin. It's still a good wine, so I picked up a few bottles. Can anyone say party at my house this weekend!

Some technical stuff:

I remember reading how there are strict regulations on exactly what can be on a wine label; nothing provocative, offensive, and no "dirty" words. Well, I was shocked, and truthfully so excited, to see this bottle as part of the Brix pix of the week; I guess the label-laws have relaxed! Yes, its "Bitch", an Australian Grenache produced by Chris Ringland of Three Rivers and imported by Dan Philips of the Grateful Palate. The back of the label is hysterical; its says "bitch" 77 times followed by "some more":So, yes, I had to purchase one for myself (2005 @ $12/bottle), and another for a good friend that seems to be passionate about, well, saying whatever is on her mind :). And the wine is actually quite amazing for the price: ruby; cherry; strawberry; a hint of spice; chocolate. Its a definite must to have in your collection, if just for the bitchin' label.

Still Searching

I'm still on the search for the perfect Birthday dress. Of course it has to be pink and I have to be the most beautiful girl in the room. There are so many lovely pink dresses to choose from. I subscribe the the daily email updates from Who What Wear. They're great for fashion tips and to see what trends the rich and famous are wearing. Today the email was about Shocking Pink! A little pink, a lot of pink....it's all good!

I got a new header! I'm so happy. My husband helped me with it while I'm still learning Photoshop and Illustrator. Hopefully I'll have another header someday designed by me. But I like this one for now.....

I've been busy busy busy with work, on my spring break week off from school! I haven't been able to spend much time online so I'm going back to one of my staple sites I love. Another Dress, Same Party
