Fashion Photo Forward

I came across this photo from fashion photographer Nicole Patricia Malina and thought it was just gorgeous. I love the stillness of the photo even though the dresses are moving. The image came from kodex, a "Fashion Business International" site but you can also see some of Nicole's photos at http://www.nicolinepatricia.com/.

Cards and Scrapbooks

I'm still sick but back at work and getting a little better everyday. I came across these laser cut "scrolls" that can be used for scrapbooking or card making. I sometimes make my own cards and love things like this to embellish with. I think the size is pretty small but it's hard to tell from the pictures. I saw it on Esty, wonderful site to poke around and get ideas. Also it's just great see how talented some people are! http://www.etsy.com/.

It's Friday and Memorial Day Weekend and alas I'm sick as a dog. But I came across this designer with so much paper goodness. Paper & Dink. I love the calling cards and the graphics. You can also change the color and font type to suit your purpose. Check them out at http://www.paperandinkstudio.com/ and buy from etsy. Happy weekend!

Domino Pink Rooms

The home page of my tried and trusted favorite magazine and design site Domino has put together a slide show of 50 painted rooms. You can see every color of the rainbow! It's so inspiring. Here are a few of the pink rooms they included. The words below the pictures are stright from the Domino website."For a girl's room that's youthful but still elegant, choose a paint that's feminine but not saccahrine, and then layer pinks with upholstery and accessories. Rose Petal #2010-60 http://www.benjaminmore.com/."
"A pink and red palette and geometric themes play out in varying scales in the carpet, sheets, and bedside table. The hard lines of the metal bed keep the rosy room from becoming overly sentimental.Bermuda Breeze #1345 benjaminmoore.com."

"Bubblegum pink walls hold sway in this feminine, yet refined, bedroom. An ivory rug subdues the walls and understated artwork lends the room some gravitas, downplaying any potential prissiness.Latex Flat in Pink tiger #81RR glidden.com."

"Pink is unexpected but warm and welcoming in a front entryway; deep-green curtains and retro-fashionable accessories keep the fanciful hue from getting too girly.Regal AquaPink latex in Authentic Pink benjaminmoore.com."

My Affair with Death Cab

I've been listening to the new Death Cab for Cutie album "Narrow Stairs" on repeat for a week now and I still love love love it. Here is the video for "I Will Possess Your Heart". Love this song and the fact that it's 8 minutes long! Oh Death Cab, why have you been away for so long?! It took you so long to make a new album for me but it's here and now our love affair can continue. I will be seeing you soon.....xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Pink Bed Daydreams

Wow! It's Friday in Seattle and it going to be a beatuiful day! I've been gone for a while but hopefully more focused and posting more often. I've been having troubles with beds lately. First I need a new bed at home. Two new beds actually. One for the guest room and a new one for our bedroom. Our bed is ancient! and I haven't been sleeping the last few nights. Serious insomnia. Maybe I'll spend the weekend browsing the furniture stores downtown. Second, I can't seem to find a bed when I need one...for napping and other stuff. So I leave you with pictures of beds that I have collected from various sources. Wishing you a very wonderful weekend and a good night of sleep!!!

Paris Fever

I'm having serious Paris fever. I went to Paris about 4 years ago and I NEED to go back soon. I found this site, www.cafepress.com/opheliasart, that has these pretty postcards. Very Marie Antoinette. Did I mention that I really want to go to Paris!

Product Runway

This last weekend I was involved in a fashion show with outfits made out of interior design materials...everything from stone to carpet to drapes. I was on a team with local design firm, Gensler. They were kind enough to ask me to join their team as a student. We made an Elizabeth inspired cape and coller out of Tandus carpet. The project was time consuming fun and worth it in the end. All of the outfits were amazing! So much work and detail put into it. Did I mention that my team was in the top 6 out of 20! We were happy with that.

Check out Tandus carpet. They are a great sustainable green company and product. http://www.tandus.com/.

Gensler outfit taking the top 6.

And the winner of the competition was this carpet dress.

Cinco de Mayo. Muy bien!

Happy Cinco de Mayo. Although I don't usually do much to celebrate, even though I am Mexican, I just wanted to wish everyone out there a happy day and hope you are all eating yummy Mexican food and beer. Vive Mexico!
